Plan-Based Allowances

What your plan includes, and what happens when an enriched feed goes over its allowance

Written by Austin Alexander

Your Marpipe plan decides how many enriched feeds you can publish and how many products those feeds can carry. Standard feeds aren't limited on any plan, so you can always import your full catalog and manage it in Marpipe.

Standard feeds vs. Enriched feeds

Every output feed is one of two kinds, and only one of them counts toward your plan.

  • Standard feed

An output feed with no treatments added. It sends your product data, original images, and any custom fields to a channel. Standard feeds are how you use Marpipe for feed management, and they're unlimited on every plan.

  • Enriched feed

An output feed with at least one treatment added, so your products go out with Marpipe creative applied. Enriched feeds and the products in them are what your plan allowance covers.

On the Free plan you can still design creative and generate AI images. To publish treatments or AI images to a feed, you'll be prompted to upgrade to Startup.

How enriched SKUs are counted

A SKU is a single product variant. Every size and color counts on its own, so a t-shirt in three colors and four sizes is 12 SKUs.

Your SKU allowance applies to each enriched feed separately. Within a feed, each product counts once, even if it appears in several treatments. In the example below, the feed has three treatments but 9 unique products, so it uses 9 SKUs.

You can see an enriched feed's SKU count and allowance on the right side of its output feed page. If the feed goes over, the SKU Allowance turns red.

If an enriched feed goes over its allowance

When an enriched feed has more SKUs than your plan allows, it stops syncing and can't publish new changes. The last published version stays live, but its product data won't update until the feed is back under the limit.

You will receive email letting you know which feed is over. You'll receive at most one email per feed every 30 days.

To get syncing again, you can either:

  • Narrow the feed. Add filters to your output feed or its designs so fewer products are included.

  • Raise your allowance. Upgrade your plan or contact support to increase your SKU limit.

SKU overage rates

Some plans can opt into SKU overage rates. With overages, an enriched feed keeps syncing and publishing past its allowance, and the extra SKUs are billed on your next invoice. To find out about opting in, or to check which option applies to your account, reach out through our support chat or at support@marpipe.com.

If your account is on overage rates, you can see this billing cycle's overage under Settings > Organization > Billing Info.

Markets

If you sell in more than one region or language, your plan also includes a set number of markets for your output feeds. A market is a region and language pair, like United States / English or Germany / German.

  • Every plan includes one market.

  • Importing data for other markets is free. The limit only applies to the markets your output feeds target.

  • Several output feeds on the same market count as one.

If you try to create or change an output feed to target a new market after reaching your limit, Marpipe will let you know and the feed won't be saved. Contact support to add more markets to your plan.
