Learn how to add and edit text elements in the Ad Builder

Create Text (In-Image Copy) Assets

  1. From left navigation, click In-Image Copy tab

  2. Click Add Copy

  3. Type the text content in the text editor

  4. Click "+" to create multiple in-image copy

  5. Click Create In Image Copy at the bottom of the window to add them to the library

You can color code your text assets for easier categorizing and organization by toggling the blue button and choosing a color.

Add Text to the Canvas

To create a new text on the Canvas:

  1. Click on the Text Mode icon in the top toolbar

  2. Click on the canvas where you want to place the text

  3. Type the text content in the text editor

  4. Click Add Copy to Canvas at the bottom of the window to add them to the canvas

You can also add an existed text to the canvas by dragging the text assets from the in-image copy panel.


Edit Text Content

  1. Double click the text element on the canvas

  2. Make the desired changes in the text editor

  3. Click Update Text Asset to save the changes

Updating a saved text asset will cause it to update on all designs that asset is used


Edit Text Basic Properties

Select a text element, you can see the text property panel shows up on the right. From the text property panel, you can edit text basic properties:

  • Edit text font: Click on the font dropdown in the property panel and select a font from the font menu. You can upload your own font families and they will show at the top of the font list in the menu. Click here to see how to upload your font.

  • Edit text size: Adjust the text size value by clicking on the arrow buttons in the text size input or type in a new value

  • Edit text alignment: Click one of the Alignment buttons (Align Left, Align Center, Align Right)

  • Edit text color: click here


Resize Text and Text Box

Standard Text Mode

Text mode determines how text and text box interact with each other. There are three options to resize the text box by default. Here is a video walkthrough of the default text mode:

  1. Auto Width & Height: The text box size is auto determined by the width and height of the text asset. You cannot adjust the text box size manually.

  2. Auto Height: You can set the font size and the width of the box. The text content expands the height of the bounding box as it changes.


    To change the text box width, select the text asset and drag the circular handles left and right.

  3. Auto Width: You can the font size and the height of the box and then the text content expands the width of the bounding box as it changes.

Auto Size Mode

In the auto size text mode, the text size will change automatically based on the text box size. You are able to resize the text box freely. The text size input will be deactivated when auto size is on.

  • To turn the auto size mode on, click on the auto size switcher in the text property panel.

  • To resize text box, select a text element, drag the circular handles to resize. You can hold "Shift" to resize it with the same aspect ratio.

Text Wrapping

When the text wrapping is on, the text assets will ignore the original line break and words will break to the next line when reach to the edge of the text box. In this mode, there are two options to resize the text box:

  1. Auto Height: You can set the font size and the width of the box. The text content expands the height of the bounding box as it changes.
    ​
    To change the text box width, select the text asset and drag the circular handles left and right.

  2. Fixed Size: You can set the width and height of the text box. The text box size will not change when swapping the different text variants in.

    To resize the text box, select a text element, drag the circular handles to resize. You can hold "Shift" to resize it with the same aspect ratio.

Edit Text Box

Apply Fill to Text Box

  1. Select a text element

  2. From the text box section in the property panel, click the Fill radio checker to add fill to the text box

  3. Click the rectangle next to Fill. The Color Picker appears.

  4. Adjust the text box fill color using the color field and color slider. You can also input a HEX code to change the color


Apply Stroke to Text Box

  1. Select a text element

  2. From the text box section in the property panel, click the Stroke radio checker to add boarder to the text box

  3. Click the rectangle next to Stroke. The Color Picker appears.

  4. Adjust the text box fill color using the color field and color slider. You can also input a HEX code to change the color

  5. The default stroke weight is 1. Click the stroke weight input to apply a different value.


Content Alignment

Content Alignment

Content alignment decides how the text asset is aligned inside the text box. There are three horizontal alignments:

  1. Left: Align text asset to the left edge of the text box

  2. Right: Align text asset to the right edge of the text box

  3. Horizontal center: Align text asset to the horizontal center of the text box

And here are three vertical alignments:

  1. Top: Align text asset to the top edge of the text box

  2. Bottom: Align text asset to the bottom edge of the text box

  3. Vertical center: Align text asset to the vertical center of the text box

Text Expansion

Content alignment also affects the direction that the text expands from when cycling through the variants.

Add Text Padding

You can create space around a text asset inside the text box by adding the padding.

  1. Add uniformed padding:
    Turn the uniform padding switch on. You can set the left / right padding together and the top / bottom padding together.
    ​
    To add the same value for left, right, top and bottom paddings, click on the lock icon and input one value. It will apply to all 4 paddings.

  2. Add individual padding:
    Turn the uniform padding switch off. Input padding values in the left, right, top and bottom individually.


Round Text Box Corners

You can edit the roundness of the text box corners in the text property panel:

  1. Select an text element

  2. From the text box section in the property panel, enter a radius value in the roundness input

To round each corner individually, click option button behind the roundness input to open the roundness sub panel. You can input radius values for each corner.
