Accessing the editor

Outside of creating brand new fields you can also modify the values of the existing fields coming in through your source feed. To access the source field editor, navigate to manage fields and then click the edit icon on a field.

Editing fields

By default, all source feed fields will have the original value from your data source. By clicking the input for the value, you can open up the templated text style editor. In this editor you can write static text or insert dynamic values from other fields just like in the ad builder.

If all you want to do is populate one field with the data from a different field, you can simply delete the initial text and then insert a new field.

In other cases, you may want to replace the dynamic text with static text. For example you could input "In Stock" as the value for availabiliy in order to set everything as in in stock.

Using Modifiers

Another common use case for adjusting source field is applying modifiers. Modifiers allow you to make dynamic adjustments to the values in a field.

For example you could use the "Uppercase" modifier on your title field to alter the text to be all caps.

Don't forget you can also string multiple pieces of dynamic text together by inserting fields throughout your text. The style of title below is popular on platforms like Google Shopping.

Using multiple rules

Source field editing works off of the same rule based system as custom fields.

By default each field starts with only one rule - which just grabs the normal values from the source. If you want values to populate differently across different sets of SKUs then you need to add additional rules.

You can add as many rules as you need in order to customize the product data for different sets of SKUs.
